About Us

On May 7, 1993 a partnership was formed by two families whose goal was to enhance the community by establishing quality child care and early childhood education programs that served southern Connecticut families from New Haven, North Branford, East Haven, West Haven, Guilford, and Madison. This partnership resulted in the formation of three childcare centers in two Connecticut communities, Milford and Branford. As the centers grew it became apparent that they were best managed when the owners were on-site managers. Consequently the partnership split and the Pavelko family became owners and operators of Duck Pond Day Care, Branford Inc. (aka Duck Pond Learning Center and Nursery School).

The primary goal of Duck Pond Learning Center is to provide an environment that is designed to meet the developmental needs of children through play experiences. Curriculum addresses the cognitive, creative, language, social and emotional growth, and physical needs of your children. Duck Pond Learning Center’s purpose is to provide an atmosphere where children can develop a positive self-esteem through a balance of teacher-directed and self-directed activities. Duck Pond Learning Center provides opportunities for structured group activities as well as for solitary play and quiet time. The large, secure play yard provides daily opportunities for large motor development, extension of curriculum activities, and plenty of fresh air and sunshine.

Duck Pond Learning Center is located in a secure and quiet non-commercial area with easy access to Interstate 95 and Route 1. The facility requires pass-code entry with a logged sign-ins and sign-outs for all parents and their children.
