02/01/2008 DPLC Staff training for
DPLC is pleased to announce that our staff is being trained for "Peaceful Touch". Training is 12 hours and will conclude in April. Staff will implement techniques as they are learned.
"Power of touch . . . is a necessary gift of nature, without which a human being cannot thrive. The Peaceful Touch approach integrates healthy touch into children's activities, from games and story-telling to reading math and science. In Sweden, where more than 300,000 children practice Peaceful Touch on a regular basis, both teachers and parents report lower levels of anxiety and aggression, and improved group functioning."

12/13/2007 Green Cleaning
Because we are always dedicated to doing what is best for children, we have contracted with a carpet cleaner who uses "green", non-toxic products. Children spend lots of time on the floors and we can now be assured that they are not interacting with harmful toxins.
